Generation Of Design(Short Read)

Sacred Four.

Lets take a look at the Four Sacred levels of being: Body, Mind, Soul, and Spirit.

Imagine for a moment that spirit is like electricity. Soul(conscious awareness) is like a wall socket, dividing positive and negative into seperate currents. Imagine the body as an appliance that plugs into the socket. And the mind as the output of energy.

If you plug in a lamp, you get light. If you plug in a stove, you get heat. If you plug in a fan, you get wind. If you plug in a stereo, you get sound.

This is the universe. You plug one thing in, you get rocks and trees. Plug in another, you get cats and dogs. Plug in another, and you get human beings and dandilions.

The universe is holographic and fractal. That means Human begins,(you and I) Are made of the sacred four elements of being. Everything that exists is made of these four levels. This is the unifying principle of the universe.

If you turn off the stereo, does the electricity still exist?

If you unplug the lamp, does the outlet still exist?

We have to Lose our Mind, to Find our Soul.(Ego Death & Rebirth)(with Video)

Ego Dissolution

I believe we are all born with a body and a soul, but not a mind/personality/ego. Our minds are an emergent property of consciousness interfacing with the external world. The mind is a positive/negative feedback loop, that develops as an adaptive strategy. As the demands of life exceed the conscious awareness’s ability to mirror an internalized model, the internal dissonance forces a partitioning of awareness. It is at this time the one unified consciousness is divided into two seperate parts; the conscious mind and the unconscious mind. The conscious aspect of our mind is state driven (immediate and temporary) and the unconscious mind is trait driven (developing long term cognitive systems to manage the self/environment boundaries.)

The psyche is not a brain/mind interface but a soul/body interface. In the western model of human nature, (psychological conflicts) are viewed and treated as a brain/personality problem. This is why we have become as individuals so unsuccessful at healing ourselves and each other. The trauma begins and ends with the soul, an entity in each one of us, just as real as our physical body and even more real than our personality.

This is the missing connection in our modern world, we have lost the sacred in everyday life. In the rush and waves of technology, social media and advertising the sacred aspects of human nature became obscured, and distorted. This has left a collective emptiness felt around the world. The answers to all of our current problems can only be found by reintegrating the sacred back, into both our personal, but also social lives. It is my goal to be a part of this revival, and to remind you that you can choose to do the same.

It takes A Village.(The reason behind A Citizen's Guide)

It doesn’t just take a village to raise a child, it takes a village to organize, maintain, heal and grow a village.

The purpose and intention behind A Citizen’s Guide to Healing the Earth.

I with my heart of hearts believe the above statements to be true. In the words of Marshall McCluhan “we live in a global village”. I promise this is the last time I will say village. πŸ™‚

I have gone through many stages in my life, from not caring about the problem, to being a part of the problem myself, to opening my heart to empathy and becoming overwhelmed by the problem, to becoming an agoraphobic hermit for six year, hiding from the problem out there, just to realize that the biggest battle was the one-on-one with my ego that would come to take over my “safe place”. We arrive to the current era where I am coming out of the hermit hut, to reconnect with the magic of the universe.

I created this blog for many reason. One to give these Ideas a home other than my head, and the occasional family dinner rant. To free up so ” mental bandwidth” I made this place.

What is the problem that plagued me so much? It was western culture’s (anglo-saxon) loss of the sacred elements of the universe. The tradition of science and reason (matter), came with it a cynicism towards anything existential (energy). Because matter tends to be predictable, it is quantifiable and thus objectively controllable. Energy on the other hand is unpredictable, unmeasurable by the techniques and equiptment used to measure material changes. Because of this, energy is subjectively controllable, which is the inversion of the transformation process.

We in the west have, since the 1500’s, slowly taken all the sacred energetic relationships away from our activities of daily living. This loss of meaning and value in everything has created a collective numbness that I believe people are ready to face and reawaken this dormant aspect of their nature.

I would like this place to be a symbolic campfire. I welcome any comments, ideas critiques (ideas and conversation have always been my drug-of-choice). I believe we are all expressions of human nature, the complete package of the species resides in each individual. Our souls are all bound by the psychic archetypes that we are, by matter of incarnation, forced to play out, often to both our deepest joys and deepest sorrows.

We have as a society (I am Canadian) relied institutions to take care of us. Not just by building roads and hospitals, or passing laws and protecting against crime. We have relied on government, business, science and medicine experts, and forced social programs; to define, guide, manage and transform human nature. We see ourselves as consumers instead of citizens. We need to start taking a more active role in being a tribe member. We all have a role to play, in our friends and families, neighbourhoods, and in the collective consciousness of humanity.

This website is a call to organize a grassroots empathy and compassion movement, and I invite you to be a part of it, in this space and in your own private life.

A Psychologist is a Shaman: Dr Jordan Peterson Clip.

The clip below is from a lecture by Dr Jordan Peterson. He describe the eternal problems of the human psyche. He talks about the journey into the unconscious is both a psychological and spiritual pursuit. The role of helping people through this was fulfilled by shaman’s before modern psychology.

I watched this video for the first time today, and it describes so well, what I have been experiencing, and why I took time away from blogging.

Jordan Peterson, Clinical Psychologist.

I have been struggling with this feeling that I am called to function as a Shaman/ Psychologist. I have taken Psychology in university but I never took school seriously and dropped out with 66 of the 120 credit degree.

I have a past of ups and downs, and dysfunction and lack of follow through. I have realized I am afraid to fully embrace this role, create my practice of healing and grounding myself, and develop a discipline and routine built around it.

The more I listen to the experts, the more I realize that, my skills and abilities are there and in the similar caliber.

I have realized that commitment and discipline are my last hurdle to polishing and improving.

Update: A Citizen's Guide is now master of its DomainπŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚(music)

As a minimalist (not always by choice, mind you), I have learned to make due with small resources. When I first started a citizens guide to healing the earth, WordPress generously gave me the letters .art.blog for free.😊 However; after using those letters a while, I realized I had more letters than I needed.

I decided to give those letters back, and I traded them for a ‘.ca’

Now a Citizens Guide has moved into https://citizensguidetohealingtheearth.ca

The place is almost twice as big, easier to find, and a bit more moderized. The only draw back is the rent is a little higher than the last place, but still very reasonable.

So come on in and stay a while. We have music, documentaries, poetry, thought exercises and much more. And feel free to comment, here at a citizens guide, Sharing is Caring.😊

The straight to the point reason why change is hard.(Short read)(music)

As long as we are fascinated with a problem, we will be unwilling to consider or apply the solution. Because when we solve a problem it goes away, and we can’t be fascinated by it anymore.

Nothing exists apart from its opposite. Problems are both painful and pleasurable. Solutions are both pleasureable and painful. Likewise these opposites exist in us, and thus we are always both attracted to, and repelled by everything in life, nowhere is this conflict/dynamic more at work, than inside the consciousness of a single human being.

One’s ability to tolerate and survive cognitive dissonance depends on whether their commitment is to truth, or consistency. The goal of consistency is to never change. The goal of truth is to never stay the same. As long as we are fascinated with our personality, our ways of doing things, and our preferences, we will fear any realizations that threaten to change them.

Follow Your Heart: The purpose of going through the Shadow. (Short read with music)

THE PRAYER OF ST FRANCIS OF ASISSI

“Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is anger, peace; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy” O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.”

The Century of the Self: (4 Part Docu-series BBC)(4 videos)

if you spend 4hr doing anything, few things can be more valuable to you and the people you love than watching the documentary series “The Century of the Self”. This 4 part docu-series covers the rise of pyschological manipulation by big business, politicians, media and advertising.

The series describes how politicians fearing the irrational nature of the average citizen, turned to freudian psychology to understand the unconscious drives of the masses.

Politicians, business leaders and psychiatrists came to believe if people refused to control themselves, they must be controlled from above. The series documents from 1914-1999 and describes how mass events were engineered. It also gives an amazing view into human nature and many different psychological theories. If you want to understand the world you live in now, this is ground zero.

Part 1 Happiness machines – this episode describes how fearing the shadow and destructive potential of the average person, social engineers decided to manage the unconscious desires of the masses. By satisfying peoples inner selfish desires it made them happy, and thus docile.

Part 2 The engineering of consent – describes the rise of the Freud family and Psychoanalysis’s marriage to marketing, business and media. It describes how the idea that if people were taught to conform to social norms, this would strengthen their ability to control their own thoughts and emotions. It also describes how business leaders realized that by linking products to peoples unconscious hopes and fears, they could control how they behaved. This also describes the birth of subliminal advertising. This episode also describes the CIA’s study of mind control techniques.

Part 3 There is a policeman inside all our heads and he must be destroyed – This episode talks about how the human potential movement grew as branches of psychology rejected the idea that social control was the answer. The humanist movement believed the human beings can take part in our own growth and can through exploration gain insight. At the same time big business realized that the “individualism” movement was the best thing to happen to business. They learn how to take the selfish individualism and make and market products around it. Because people used objects to represent “who they are” business could sell infinite products as people “buy their identity.”

Part 4 describes how because North American citizens have become so selfish, it has become very difficult to bring about social change. Programs to care for people and fix social problems don’t work, because “individualist’ fell they shouldn’t have to help out. It also describes how psychological surveys were used to understand the unconscious motives behind how people vote.
